New Normal or Back to Old Habit Pattern

With the Movement Control Order(MCO) imposed due to COVID-19 situation in Malaysia, I realized that I am back to a scenario before meeting Elango Thiyagu, my mentor and ET Ideas :

I am currently staying by myself at home and working from home earning a living.

However, that’s as far as the similarities goes.

At that time, I was still servicing my housing loan, with minimal income, things looks gloomy and I am probably on a path to depression, if I am not already there.

Now, I am servicing a car loan, income coming in from accounting services and experiential learning workshops as well as investments. Things are still ok though there are stress moments due to client’s requests for information, work to be done etc.

My outlook for my future ?  The road looks a bit bumpy, need to maneuver carefully, maybe a detour here and there but I will still reach my goal.

At the beginning of the lockdown, I was very enthusiastic about finishing some of my overdue work, but as time passes it sort of slowed down. Then I begin to realize that being thrown back to the similar scenario before ET Ideas brings back the memories and the tendency to go back to the habitual pattern during that time – minimal work, not focused on any goals and just let life passed me by.

As such, I am making conscious effort to do things a bit differently – what am I working on?

ONE – set meetings with clients to ensure accounts continues to be updated
ONE – set meetings with clients to ensure accounts continues to be updated

Two – work towards my health goals, persist on personal training though obstacles happenned to either cancel or defer the training

Three – small steps of cleaning the house and not do everything together

Four – do catch-up sessions with associates to keep in touch and be in the environment, albeit virtual

Five – count my blessings especially that I am still alive
